Going through the arduous task of writing one’s thoughts and inspirations into a publishable book or paper proves to be a great process of tutoring from the Lord. One learns best when one reads the thoughts that the Lord has put into the heart of the writer, and with which they have grappled to put to pen and paper.
This book is intended for youth and adults of all faiths, but Christians will relate specifically to thoughts and ideas that have been taken from the pages of the New Testament, as well as thoughts and ideas, shared by speakers, pastors, and wise men through the years. While not quoted directly, these thoughts and ideas strongly influenced the lessons that are derived from the experiences of the main character – the Unknown Disciple. Because so many of us are unknown disciples, we find ourselves relating to the characters in the book, asking the same questions, feeling the same emotions, and seeking to understand ourselves, as we learn, from the lives of those who were with Jesus. But quoting exact passages from the New Testament and following the actual events recorded in the scriptures. One gains a sense of realism that allows the reader to discover gospel principles and truth from the New Testament, that they have eluded them in their own readings. This book is not designed to be a doctrinal commentary of the New Testament, but rather a life lesson perspective of the events that occurred for those in the time that Jesus walked among them. Exact scriptural passages are cited in the end notes so that the reader can follow the story from the pages of the New Testament. This approach also lends validity to the idea that each gospel writer saw and recorded events according to their unique perspective.
